PetServ Trust & Safety Policy

Last updated: August 2026

At PetServ, building trust is at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to connect pet owners with reliable, verified, and trustworthy pet care providers. This Trust & Safety Policy outlines the measures we take to create a safe and accountable community and explains our commitment to transparency.

Provider Vetting & Verification

We believe that robust vetting is the cornerstone of a safe marketplace. Our process includes:

  1. Application Review: All new provider applications are reviewed by our team before they appear in search results.
  2. Credentials Verification: Providers are encouraged to add their credentials — such as insurance, bonding, and background-check certifications — to their profile. Providers can become background checked and display that on their profile, and we support verified insurance and bonded providers as well. We manually verify each of these statuses against the documentation a provider uploads before that credential is ever shown on their public profile — a claimed credential with no verified document behind it never appears to pet owners.
  3. The Verified Badge: Providers who successfully complete our verification process receive a verified badge on their profile. This badge serves as one signal among many that a provider has met our trust and safety criteria.

Data & Platform Security

Protecting your information is fundamental to earning your trust. We use modern encryption and secure certificates (SSL/TLS) to protect both website and email interactions, so data exchanged with PetServ — including account details, messages, and booking information — is encrypted in transit.

We also continually and actively monitor user accounts and provider profiles using advanced AI to detect suspicious activity and prevent unauthorized access. Accounts that violate our rules are suspended immediately, and re-activation requires manual verification by our team before access is restored.

The Role of the Pet Owner

We are committed to transparency and encourage you to ask questions and use your own judgment for any service involving your pet. The verified badge is not a guarantee, but a signal of a provider's proactive steps to build trust. We recommend that you:

  • Check Their Profile: Read the provider's bio, reviews, and credentials.
  • Ask Questions: Send a message to the provider. Ask about their experience, their safety protocols, and how they handle emergencies.
  • Meet & Greet: For many services, especially sitting or boarding, we strongly encourage a free meet-and-greet before the first paid booking to see how the provider interacts with your pet.

Reporting Issues

We are dedicated to maintaining a safe community. If you experience an issue with a provider or a pet owner, please report it to us immediately using our Contact page.
